The Providence Wealth Management difference
A 401(k) at one firm. An IRA at another. An insurance policy bought a decade ago for reasons nobody remembers. A will drafted before the grandchildren arrived. Each piece may be defensible on its own, and the whole thing still may not add up to a plan.
Providence Wealth Management exists to help the pieces work together. We review what you own, what you owe, what you are protecting against, and the tax picture underneath it all — then build one coordinated plan, working alongside your CPA, attorney, and other professionals where their expertise is needed.
What we do
You are welcome to engage us for a single piece. Many clients find the value is in how the pieces fit together.
Portfolios built around low-cost core holdings, with satellite positions added deliberately and only when they fit your risk tolerance and time horizon.
Turning a lifetime of savings into a paycheck: withdrawal sequencing, Social Security timing, required distributions, and a plan for the years markets do not cooperate.
Making sure titling, beneficiaries, and trust provisions actually match your intentions — and coordinating with your attorney so the documents and the accounts agree.
Asset location, Roth conversion analysis, tax-loss harvesting, and charitable strategy, coordinated with your CPA so decisions are made before December 31.
Protection sized to a real need rather than a sales target — income replacement while a family still depends on it, and liquidity or legacy funding where an estate calls for it.
Retirement plan selection, entity and compensation considerations, key-person protection, and preparing the balance sheet for an eventual sale or transition.
Who you work with
I have been advising clients since 1999. That covers the dot-com unwind, the 2008 financial crisis, a decade-long bull market, a pandemic, and the return of inflation and higher rates. Each of those periods reinforced the same lesson for me: the plan matters more than the forecast, and a client who understands their plan is better positioned to stay with it.
Providence Wealth Management is built the way I would want to be advised. You talk to the person doing the work. Recommendations are explained in plain language, including what could go wrong. Nothing gets sold to hit a quota, because there is no quota.
How it works
We start with your life, not your statements.
A full read of what you already own, and the gaps between the pieces.
One written plan, in plain language, with the tradeoffs named.
Every change made deliberately and documented so you know why.
Scheduled reviews, and a standing invitation to call first.
Where we work
Our office is on East Zink Street, a few minutes from downtown New Braunfels. A good many of our clients are here in Texas, and a good many are not. Families relocate, careers move, children settle in other states — and an advisory relationship that is working should not end because of a change of address.
Meetings happen wherever they are most useful: in the office, by phone, or by video. Documents are handled securely and electronically. What does not change is who you are talking to and how carefully the work is done.
What I have learned over the years is that clients need the same things in every kind of market: a clear explanation, a plan built in advance, and someone who answers the phone. Jason E. Hurta, Providence Wealth Management
Insights
Two retirees with identical average returns can end up in very different places. The order the returns arrive in is the reason — and it is one of the few retirement risks you can actually plan around.

A low-cost core does the heavy lifting. Satellites are where conviction lives. Confusing the two is how portfolios end up expensive, concentrated, and hard to explain.
